A key element One of the key elements for the success of this renovation process was the extensive supervision of the project. Philip Shi, Wind Japanese and Thai Regional Manager ensured that every aspect of the restaurant kept Wind's spirit, and the Wind Group Core Values were followed from the beginning to the end of the project. Philip has been the Regional Operations Manager for Wind Japanese and Thai since early 2021. This new position created by Wind Group allows him to manage, train and develop his team at Wind Japanese and Thai's three locations in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Mississauga. He came to Canada in 2012 from his homeland of China to earn a Master’s Degree in Education and Leadership at Brock University. Methodical and goal-oriented, his focus was on creating a corporate business career. However, after visiting Wind Japanese and Thai St. Catharines and experiencing its potential, he joined Wind Group to help build the company - not only as individual restaurants but corporately. Along his path, he has served as a manager for all three brands of Wind Group, East Izakaya, Wind Japanese and Thai and Ma Chinese Cuisine, and he made his way to the corporate office as the CEO’s Executive Assistant. His deep experience with each brand and their operations gave him the in-depth knowledge of procedures and regulations are necessary to optimize and develop each restaurant and the company as a whole. His long-term goal of making Wind Group the leader in its field is the fuel that motivates him to learn and grow every day. “Peter Li and I once discussed applying for a job in one of those big companies but decided that instead, we should just make Wind Group a big company, and I believe we can do it.” Today the successful reopening of all Wind Japanese and Thai restaurants, and especially the spectacular revamping of Wind Niagara Falls, haven't been possible without his guidance and constant support.
